Australian Frontline Machinery is experienced in selling ex-Military Land, Sea and Air equipment. Assets are demilitarised and sanitised by the Australian Defence Force before being made available for Public Auction or Expressions of Interest (EOI) through our trusted partners, Pickles Auctions.
We regularly conduct auctions and invite EOI for a wide range of ex-Military Vessels, including Zodiac Inflatable Boats, Barges, Crane Stores Lighters such as the Wattle-Class CL01, fleet training and support vessels like HMAS Seahorse Horizon, fuel transport ships including SOWFL Wyulda, Minehunters such as Huon-Class, Paluma-Class Vessels including HMAS Paluma and Mermaid and many more.

Repurpose A Paluma-Class Vessel
These decommissioned Ex-Military Survey Motor Launches have provided key capabilities for maritime trade through the provision of hydrographic data for Military and commercial vessels.
Potential uses for Paluma-class vessels in a civilian setting include:
- ship YARD - To Restore, refurbish and repurpose vessels for various functions.
- SEA TRANSPORT and passenger ferrying - the vessels 2.2 meter drawing is favourable for operating in shoaling and reef waters.
- SURVEY SHIP - MARiTIME INFrastructure planning, to plot and map clear safe routes.
- marItime Scientific research - based on the vessels previous assignments surrounding mapping and exploration.

Some items from HMAS Shepparton and HMAS Benalla have been removed by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).
We encourage you to inspect each vessel to determine what components have been retained onboard and what components are no longer on board.
The vessels will be sold as is, where is, in their current condition with no guarantees.
Speak with our auctioneer Pickles for updated collection requirements.
Vessels are located at Tropical Reef Shipyard. Wharf fees are to be discussed with the shipyard directly. If an agreement has not been made with Tropical Reef Shipyard, vessels will need to be removed by 31st August.
Ownership will not be transferred unless full payment has been received.
The new owner must comply with Maritime laws and regulations.
