Summary Of HMAS Shepparton

HMAS Shepparton (A03) is one of four purpose built Paluma-Class Survey Motor Launches operated by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), and sister ship to the HMAS Benella.
With the motto ‘By Wisdom And Courage’ HMAS Shepparton like all four procured Paluma-Class vessels were manufactured by Eglo Engineering, Adelaide.
The (RAN) used Paluma-Class Vessels for Hydrographic Surveys in shallow waters around Northern Australia, primarily in the Great Barrier Reef

Operational History

2011 – HMAS Shepparton was one of the three RAN vessels deployed to survey Morton Bay and the Brisbane River for submerged debris as apart of the Australian Defence Force response to the 2010-11 Queensland Floods for Operation Queensland Flood Assist.

2012 – Completion of Exercise Triton Thunder

2013 – Participated in the International Fleet Review held in Sydney

Additional Information/ Removed Systems

Fluids: No fuel, fresh water tanks and dirty oil tanks are empty.

Air Conditioning: System has no refrigerant charge, it has an inert holding gas in the system.

Systems Removed: Navy Specific Systems, Survey Systems, Digital Voice Recording, Computerised Navigational System, HR Radios, Life Rafts, Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Damage Control Gear.
NOTE: All systems that were incomplete from HMAS Shepparton’s last maintenance period are on board with the parts located within the same area as those systems.
